New version of the innovative rigid chain system: ML1000 impresses with a construction height of only 200 mm
Thanks to its particularly low overall height, the new model of the Marathon Lift is the optimal hoisting solution for applications with limited installation space. The ML1000 combines extremely compact dimensions with all the advantages of our maintenance-free rigid chain technology such as high load capacity and extreme durability with more than one million movement cycles without significant wear.
The maintenance-free rigid chain system Marathon Lift has already proven itself as an efficient alternative to hydraulically operated lifting systems. With the Marathon Lift ML1000, we are expanding our product range with an extremely compact version of the Marathon Lift systems. “Our Marathon Lift is a powerful and economical alternative to classic chain-based or hydraulically operated systems in many hoisting applications. In addition to performance and reliability, overall height plays an important role in numerous industrial applications, such as floor conveyors. With the ML1000, we have developed a particularly compact solution specifically for this requirement," explains Dr. Stephan Gerber, CEO Wippermann junior GmbH. With an overall height of only 200 millimetres, the Marathon Lift ML1000 offers a lifting force of 1.0 tonnes at a lifting height of one metre.
One million movement cycles without significant wear thanks to Marathon technology
Our high level of expertise in maintenance-free and particularly durable drive components for lifting and conveyor systems is evident without compromise in all Marathon Lift models: Just like the larger ML2000 system, the ML1000 allows maintenance-free operation for more than 1 million movement cycles without significant wear. This saves cost-intensive maintenance intervals thus making the system particularly economical.
The maintenance-free rigid chain with a chain pitch of 1" or 25.4 millimetres, which is smaller compared to the proven ML2000 model, provides the basis for the unusually compact design of the system. At the same time, it also offers the patented design that turns the drive chain into a highly stable column during the lifting phase. Thanks to the 1" chain, Wippermann engineering was able to minimize the patented deflection as well as the chain box accordingly. Dr. Jakob Küpferle, head of the engineering department at Wippermann, explains: “It was our clear development goal to retain the central advantages of the Marathon Lift system while making its design significantly more compact. The result is the new ML1000.” Despite its small dimensions, the ML1000 is able to lift loads of up to one tonne jerk-free and precisely to the millimetre. At the same time, the rigid chain system is extremely fast: It takes about seven seconds for the load to be lifted to a height of one metre.
Individual hoisting solutions for a broad range of applications
The exceptional combination of our Marathon technology with high lifting capacity, millimetre-precise positioning as well as the compact design makes
the Marathon Lift an interesting alternative to classic hoisting solutions for many applications. Thanks to the close integration of engineering and production at the headquarters in Hagen, Wippermann also offers custom-fit adaptations and modifications of the Marathon Lift to meet specific requirements. This enables individual solutions that are technically optimally designed for the respective application and are economically convincing.
